I don’t paint my nails anymore. I love pretty colors and I love pretty nails, but as a stay at home mama of little people, nail polish is pointless. I’ve even tried a real manicure 3 times. The first one lasted an hour, the second one a day and the third one slightly longer than that. So yeah… I don’t bother with that anymore. I liked pretty nails, but I just always figured they weren’t for me and my lifestyle. Maybe when I’m a grandma, I thought!
But I think I finally found what I am pretty sure is THE secret to having beautiful nails and beautiful children at the same time. I’ve been introduced to Jamberry Nails and my life has had a lot more color and sparkle to it since!
Two years ago our family was vacationing in SC. We took our usual family outing to Sweet Frog and I was delighted by the mint chevron nails the cashier had. I complimented her on them and was absolutely amazed when she told me that they had been on for 3 weeks! She was quite amazed herself, working in food service and having to wash so much. That was my first impression of Jamberry wraps. I hadn’t ever heard of them before, but I was really impressed. I had to try them for myself!
Eventually, I met a local lady who sells Jamberry and bought my first set of wraps from her. I read the instructions on the back of the package, borrowed a hair dryer and applied them to my nails. It may have been love at first sight, but it wasn’t perfect at first. Truthfully, that first application didn’t go well. At all. My fingernails looked like they had been done by a 4 year old. And the wraps only lasted a couple of days. I was so disappointed!
It was several months before I even considered trying them again, but finally I decided to give it a second go. This time I bought the Jamberry heater they sell to apply them with. I also watched some You Tube tutorials that showed some tips and tricks to the application process. I felt much more confident this time! My sister and I spend a Sunday afternoon applying wraps over coffee. I was thrilled! These were the pretty nails I’d been thinking I’d have to wait until I was a grandmother to try out. Thirteen days filled with chores and children later, my nails still looked wonderful!
Now I was hooked! I eventually ended up hosting a party and earning a bunch of free wraps. With trial and error, I did find a few things to note. I don’t love the metallic or satin finish wraps. They do not hold up nearly as well as the other finishes. The metallic base only lasts a few days on me. I need something with more longevity than that. But there are so many pretty wraps that do last super well, that I never run out of options. And? I finally got some of the mint chevron wraps I had seen on the Sweet Frog employee! I love matching my hair accessories, jewelry and I can coordinate my nails now, too!
I love how many different kinds of wraps there are for every season. I am not a real fan of red. Mainly because it doesn’t look very good on me. Jamie sent me these Valentine wraps, so I decided to go outside my box and try them. I surprised myself by loving them! I have had these on for a week now and they still look great! (Check them out in the picture! You can see that my nails are starting to grow out at the bottom a little bit, but the wrap has held up wonderfully.)
I don’t sell jamberry, so I don’t get anything out of this. But if you are a busy mama who wants pretty nails and have never tried jamberry, you should! If you are anyone who finds nail polish just not worth the trouble for the time it lasts, you should try these too. It is worth the 20 minute application process to have nice nails for 2 weeks, in my opinion! (The first couple of applications took me a lot longer than 20 minutes. Once you figure out what you’re doing, it doesn’t take long.) And if you host a party, you could earn your first ones for free, too! Contact Jaime and she’ll set you up. I love that it’s all done online, too!
I’m drooling over the new spring designs that came out this month, and the disney designs are too adorable! Which one would you pick?
I would love to send samples to anyone interested in trying the wraps out. 🙂 Send me PM here: https://www.facebook.com/JamberrywithJaimeR/?fref=ts
They are pretty! I’ve never worn nail polish beside the silly sleepover attempts in which we purposefully painted our whole finger, and I don’t know if I want to spend money on my nails. But if I would, these would be it. The chevron are deliciously pretty 🙂
