When I was a teenager, I thought hair scrunchies were a girl’s best friend. I had one in every color, to match every outfit. There were even some special ones that friends made in the sunflower floral prints they knew I loved. I had the scrunchie bun perfected. And I wore my scrunchies until they wore out from too many washings and wearings.
I still wear scrunchies to bed once in awhile. And though they make newer, more fashionable scrunchie styles these days, I always feel a bit like I’mΒ goingΒ back to the era of stirrup stretch pants when I put a scrunchie in my hair. Which is why I was delighted to find a more stylish and classic alternative that makes the most elegant updo ever: the Lilla Rose Flexi Hair Clip.
I eyed them on a friend’s blog and Instagram feed for over a year, thinking that if ever I grew my hair out I’d have to try one out. And when I did, I wondered why I’d waited until I grew out my hair. I wear my Flexi Clips every day. There’s always one in my purse for emergencies. They are just as easy to use as claw clips or scrunchies, and one hundred percent more gorgeous. I would have grown out my hair sooner if I had known this no-headache bun solution existed.
I started out with a medium Flexi Clip. It holds an updo up nicely, or a half-up style perfectly. But as my hair grew longer, I decided to try a size large. It is perfect for holding all my hair in a massive twist or bun.
I got my sister a large Flexi Clip for her birthday. Turns out her hair (that makes a pony tail many inches in circumference!) needs an extra large size Flexi Clip, but my mom was glad to claim the large.
For Christmas, I decided to get my girls hair clips “just like mommy’s”. My five-year-old daughter has smooth and gently wavy hair that comes just past her shoulders. I got the extra small size for her and it makes an updo that looks like a twin to mine! Despite her baby-fine hair, the clip stays in amazingly well.
My three-year-old has hair that rivals Shirley Temple’s. And she hates to have anything in it that she can feel or that seems to pull her curls. The mini Flexi Clip gives some control to her curls in a way that doesn’t bother her at all.
Thanks to the Flexi Clip, we have the perfect hairdo for those rushed Sunday mornings when there’s no time to wash or braid hair. It’s an easy fix for a bad hair day. And an elegant alternative to the scrunchie.Β The Flexi Hair Clip is definitely a girl’s best friend.

I really like flexi clips they are so easy to wear . I have long hair that isn’t horribly thick but it is thick . I use a extra large for doing buns , small for pony tails, mini for pulling back a little had from the front of your head like when you are using buretts to pull your bangs back .I used to only do braids and pony tails cause my hair knots easily . These work wonders give them a try I am sure you will like them all except the prices.
Bobby pins
I have heard so many wonderful things about the flexi clips, I just haven’t bought any yet.
Hmmm. I wonder what size I would need with my adult woman, long hair, but baby-baby fine?
I reckon folks would pass clean out if they saw me in something other than a ponytail and/or a J. Deere baseball cap. Might be worth a twirl. π
Blessings.
I’m guessing the medium would work for you, Darlene–you can try mine! π
My flexi-clip is my favorite. I wear it almost everyday. I only have one, so if it gets lost I am lost without it!
Lilla Rose Flexi clips are my favorite I think because I can so a ponytail with my long hair much easier than with a scrunchie. I am giving them to my bridesmaids as their gift for being in my wedding. Previously, my favorite was a claw clip.
I usually just use bobby pins to either pin my hair up in a bun or to leave it down but pin the sides back so it doesn’t all hang in my face.
I generally wear my hair in a “half-up” style, with a simple barette from Wal-Mart (although I have gotten some with a “grip” on them that keeps them from slipping off). When I put it all up, it takes several little claw clips and bobby pins to make it stay. I have waist-length hair, and it’s fairly thick and wavy. I’ve been hoping to try a Flexi Clip, as I think it would be far more comfortable and easy to do. Thanks for doing the giveaway!
My favorite hair accessory is my hair donut. My hair is pretty thin so it gives my bun a bit more volume and shape and it’s so easy to use. I love it for bad hair days when nothing else will make my hair look neat.
I like tiny jaw clips for an easy bun. The flexi clip looks lovely, I would love to try one!
Almost every day I use tiny little claw-clips to hold up my hair. They’re versatile. A friend gave me a flexi-clip, and I really like that. It’s so pretty! The size I have slips out of a pony tail and won’t quite hold a twisted style most of the time. So it would be nice to get a different size and use them more!
I don’t know if favored, but used almost exclusively: the new version of the scrunchy…streamlined to slightly above rubber bnd thickness.
Hmmm, my favorite easy hair accessory would have to be a good-old hair elastic. I use it to pull my hair back into a messy bun. It’s quick and easy, and it keeps my thick heavy hair out of my eyes.
I’d love to try these hair clips!! They’re so pretty π
OK. You’ve convinced me. Hearing how it works on all the different hair in your family is cool.
I’m going to have to try these! Going on my birthday-wish-list! π
A “claw” clip; esp in the summer time! I use elastic bands a lot too for ponytails. And sometimes bobby pins are really great!
My favorite easy accessory is fancy bobby pins. I can pull back enough off the sides to keep my hair out of my face, but still have some volume on top of my head. I usually need 4 to do a decent job. I sometimes like wide headbands, too, especially when out in the yard. The ones I wear are so wide that I can stretch them back & the act as a protection from branches grabbing at my hair. I’d love to try one of these Flexi clips.
Honestly, right now it’s pretty much just a braid. . . I have hair down to my hips and it’s hard to be creative beyond that. I’d love to try one of these.
These look so beautiful! I love how one of them has a cross in the middle. Are they a Christian company?
They are a Christian company. I love the cross too! And I love working with LillaRose! They are such a wonderful and helpful/caring company and i truly LOVE their hair products. Love. π
I would love to try this as I’m always on the lookout for a headache free hair solution!
I use mostly just rubber bands. Pull my hair back in a braid, bun, or ponytail. I do have a flexi clip which I love, but it is a bit too big for my hair in a ponytail and keeps sliding out, but it is a bit too small to pull all of my hair up. I really want to try a different size!
The flexi is definitely my favorite hair accessory by far!
I wear scrunchies almost every day but am also reminded of the 80s. π I want so badly to update my hairstyle so that it’s more elegant instead of just long and boring. This is a great idea!
Spin pins.
I love hair flowers and cute pins! Hope I can win this I have wanted one for a while. π
I’ve seen several of my friends wear these and they always look really pretty!
No headache with these? Seriously?! I get a headache no matter how I put my hair up, it seems.
My favorite hair accessory right now is a simple clip to pull the top of my hair back and away from my face. Keeps me from going crazy with it in my face all day, but doesn’t give me a headache. I would LOVE to find something to put all my hair up, though, without getting a headache. I’m longing for the warmth of summer, but dreading the heat of my hair on my neck!
I think it’s because I can twist it up loosely that it doesn’t give me a headache? I’m not sure, but I’m sure I love it, LOL! Obviously, I end up with headaches some days that I’m using the Flexi Clip, but they don’t seem to be specifically updo caused…
Do bobby pins count? I use them the most. I just stick them in my mass of curly hair and form it into a messy bun most days.
Thank you for this giveaway–I’ve been wanting a Flexi! π
I would have to say my favorite easy hair accessory is simply basic bobby pins…most days my hair is pulled back in a bun secured with bobby pins.
Ooh, I’ve heard of these for awhile but have yet to buy and try. I like my pretty bobbypins for pulling hair back and ponytails…I don’t “fuss” a lot with my hair, but these look so pretty!
These days, my favorite accessories are Scunchi’s mini claw clips. If I spin a bun just right, one or two small clips will hold the edges and keep everything in place.
These are nice, I’ve been eyeing them for a while now!
I honestly don’t do much to my hair π its usually just in a French braid… cause its easy. I’ve always wanted to try this clip, though! Thanks for the opportunity to enter π
I love my Flexi clip! So simple and elegant!
I would love to try one of these! I still use scrunchies. :O
Oh so do I…I just prefer my Flexi. π
Oh, and my current favorite hair accessories are my t-shirt headbands with little flowers on them. Such a quick and easy way to make my every day style cute. =)
These are so lovely. I’m not sure why I haven’t gotten one yet…I’ve seen them around for a while. Just out of curiosity…how long is your sister’s hair? My hair is thick and waist length, so I wonder if I would need to get an extra large. Would love to have a cuter way to put it up when I’m in a hurry!
My sister’s hair was just past her shoulders when these pictures were taken, I think. Have you checked out the sizing page? It’s got lots of help based on the circumference of your pony tail, etc.
My favourite hairpiece *used* to be a hairstick. It was this very pretty frosted plastic one with cherry blossoms etched on the end. And then it snapped when my hair got too thick and heavy. I still miss it, but the glamour of these pieces might have caught my fickle heart. π
Oh, sadness! I had some lovely hairsticks but I don’t think my hair was long enough when I attempted to use them. Lilla Rose also carries hair sticks, I just haven’t tried them yet. π
Good to hear your review! I’ve been wanting to try one of these, too…just haven’t broke down and spent the money yet. π
I know, I was the same way! But I figure these are incredibly budget-friendly because they go with anything and everything and they don’t break every week like jaw clips do. π
I braid my hair and stick it op with a large clip. I’ve been eyeing these flexiclips for a long time but sometimes you just gotta wait for a spending budget:-)
I have seen these but have never tired one. They sound great!
I don’t really use hair accessories partly because my hair is so thick but these sound like they could work. π
Thanks for posting
My sister’s hair is incredibly thick, too, but these work great for hers (it’s the straight blonder hair in the pictures).
I love Lilla Rose Flexi Clips, but my other favorite hair piece would have to be “Spin Pins” you can get them at Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens for about $5 a pair, and you have to use both for the updo. It makes a perfect bun, even for rather short (shoulder-length) hair. In the summer I use those almost daily to keep my hair off my neck.
Well now, I shall have to check those out next time I’m at Wal-Mart–thank you for the recommendation!
When my hair was really long, I used a hair stick or chopstick every day. Put it in the middle of the hair, fold over the stick, twist up and poke through – a secure bun in 15 second with no mirror or pins! Since I cut my hair, I haven’t found much to do with it, though thankfully I haven’t often needed to. I have to say, though tightly wound baby fingers are my most common, they are NOT my favorite hair accessory!
I have yet to perfect hair sticks…probably because my hair wasn’t really long enough to use them when I tried them. And yes, I know about the tightly wound baby fingers. π
